Rush Soccer Training Curriculum

Rush Education uses one of the most customized developmental youth soccer training programs in the industry. Our soccer training is led by Rush Soccer Development, a specific department that specializes in improving and implementing our club’s player development approach. RSD provides our partner clubs with age groups and ability level-specific curriculums that allow our coaches to train and improve our players through a systematic, flexible, and progressive approach.

Players are the very spotlight of Rush Soccer’s education. Our high-performance soccer academy focuses on optimizing the physical and mental performance of each student we accept into our accredited K-12 program.

We are committed to delivering the best personalized training and education while providing each student with a pathway to success. Our school offers a dynamic learning community that ensures students get the support, training, and education to become champions.

Our objective is to compile 16-20 hours of football per week. Assuming the athlete has 6 with his/her club team, 2 practices for 4 hours and 1 game for another 2 hours. Leaving approx. 10-14 hours at Rush Education.

Performance & Periodization

Academies have been in existence around the world for dozens of years. Rush Education has visited, copied, borrowed, and blended the best practices from some of the top schools, namely, AC Milan, Ajax, AJ Auxerre, Manchester City, Santos, Barcelona, Boca Jr.’s.

70 Games

Each student is requested to log their games for the year, with the intent to get in roughly 70 games per year. Mind you, approximately half of these games are:

  • scheduled, registered games
  • friendly matches, intrasquad games, stop and start type activities so the coach and team can interact and create scenarios for development.

The 70 Game chart will be viewed by staff to ensure the player is on track and complimenting the training schedule tailored for each individual.

10K Club

Players are to finish 10,000 shots per year, an average of 250 shots per week. Combined with other techniques such as passing, dribbling, trapping, and heading, we will incorporate all ball skills for the player to become proficient at finishing. He/she will be able to strike the ball clean with dozens of types of shots. During the summertime, players are expected to log an additional 2,000. When a player logs enough shots, they will receive a limited edition 10k club shirt and get posted on the 10k club web page.

player Log

Players will log 4 weeks of activity, 4 times per year in their HPP Player Log. The log includes games, training, education, and fitness. Players will make entries daily allowing staff to track and provide feedback. Our aim is to maximize the player’s time on task, a fine balance between too much and not enough is weighed. Too much physical activity results in burnout and injuries. The players’ logs will be shared and will be public for other students to view.

Classroom Education

We are big believers in viewing games, highlights, and trainings. By having the ability to visualize something vs. being lectured, we can comprehend it more efficiently and our brains can focus on the details.  “A picture is worth 1000 words”!

In addition to viewing, our athletes will cover exciting, up-to-date topics in a classroom setting such as tactics, psychology, health & wellness, and football culture.

College Advisory Program

The College Advisory Program is designed to guide our families and clubs through the recruitment process by providing support, services, and resources to maximize their success. Our Full-Time Reginal CAP Directors will work with our players to provide important, specific, year-by-year information. We encourage parents and players to actively engage with their coaches and Regional CAP Director throughout the process.
